Yesterday`s Fame-Obsessed Clan

Instead of working on my already done English paper, I decided to spend my Sunday night watching the 2011 version of The Bling Ring, which stars Austin Butler from The Carrie Diaries!
I think every one has heard of the Beverly Hills burglars who stole from the heiress, Paris and scene-maker, Lindsay Lohan, right? And recently there has been another adaptation of the series of fortunate events that has been released this summer (but its releasing in Dec for Japan)! So I decided that, before I watch the 2013 adaptation with Emma Watson, I did a little research and came across the 2011 adaptation and decided to take a little look (because Austin is so hot!) to get some background info and details on the actual events.

The movie is shown from Zack Garvey, portrayed by Butler, point of view, where it opens to Zack -through monologue- confessing his acts and his case of anxiety to the camera. Then it flashbacks to the present and begins with how Zack met Natalie, a shoppaholic who convinces her friends and Zack to start breaking and entering to their favourite celeb's houses for a "souvenir".

Honestly, the movie wasn`t as bad as I thought, but I expected more thrill and excitement. The film lacked some thrill and excitement, because it wasn`t as intriguing as the actual event. I guess because it was an adaptation, but I expected the thrill of breaking and entering into celebrities houses more intense and heart-racing. The setting and characters were pretty good! The set did express the fun Hollywood life and the suburban life of the characters, which was a good device that they used to get Zack`s character to be more real and different from his character foil, Natalie. Where can I start with Natalie... She was really not that bitchy in a bitchy kind of way! You could totally smell how self centered she was and Yin Chang portrayed her well with her Rich-and-living-the-life attitude.

To think that this was reality is hard to believe! I mean they literally did this for nearly a year! How can seven teens, practically the same age as me, break in and steal precious possessions of Hollywood`s hottest celebs!? Its absolutely crazy, bizarre and smart, all in one!

I initially wanted to post the trailer of the movie but I was`t able to find it :(
So instead I just found the official site so I`m just going to link it: http://www.mylifetime.com/movies/the-bling-ring

good bye for now!
